Bonnie-Marie

Bonnie-Marie loves to travel and hopes to one day to live again in Slovakia. She likes to read, have good conversation with friends, go to the movies and is excited about football season. She is allergic to raw onions, likes hip-hop, loves pearls, makes a mean taco salad and loves dreaming about the future. Her fondest childhood memories revolve around family and dinner at Granny's house. She is convinced her brother will be a great jazz musician. She loves working with her co-workers and students at Bryan College and passionately cares about rendering justice visible in this world. Her favorite stories to tell include the following: her mom being kissed by Elvis, pirates, and porta-potties (all separate events.) She is currently reading Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the question on her mind entering into this year: As a single person and married couples, what can we do together for the Kingdom that we cannot or would not do apart?

Paul

Paul wants you to know up front that he's from New Jersey. In other words, he knows how to jug-handle and what a good pizza tastes like. His childhood dreams were, in order: to be a bald eagle, to be Davy Crockett, to be a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, and to be a private investigator. He still plans on accomplishing all of these. Some of his favorite memories involve fishing with his dad, starting a band with his sisters, and making a homemade scarf for his hot girlfriend Paige. His superhero power is that he tends to notice an inordinately greater amount of shooting stars than the average person.Lately he's been listening to Bon Iver and reading P.D. James mysteries. The question on his mind this year is
How is person hood rooted in community?

Julie

Julie has been married to Michael since January 2009. She is one of 3 siblings and the aunt to 4 darling little girls. She loves Mickey Mouse and Mexico (a ella le gusta hablar en espaƱol). She enjoys music of multiple sorts and loves attending high energy concerts. As a child, she thought that all cats were girls and all dogs were boys. She is currently listening to [500] Days of Summer soundtrack. The question on her mind for this upcoming year: How will I learn to deal with uncomfortable situations rather than avoiding them?

Michael

Michael is a journalist. He married Julie in January 2009. Originally from Ooltewah, Tennessee, his heart will always be with the Volunteer State in the realms of athletics, the state’s superiority, and in the its battle to defeat thieving Georgians who wish to steal the beautiful waters of the Tennessee River (yeah, they really are). And yes, he wishes he was on Ol’ Rocky Top. His childhood dream was to become a Major League Baseball player, but he has since decided that he will settle for chronicling people’s stories with the written word in stunning detail, worthy of many awards and accolades, not to mention enough compensation to pay off student loans. And he wants to travel the world with Julie.

Michael is currently reading Perils of Peace: America’s Struggle for Survival After Yorktown by Thomas Fleming. The question on his mind entering into this year is “How can an intentional, close-knit community i
nfluence the larger community around it for the better by doing something counter-cultural and unique?”

Paige

Paige hails from Destin, Florida. Her passions include: editing, making people laugh, creating beautiful things, leadership, and free styling on the piano. She wants to learn how to live well and is contemplating the theme of hospitality. Her father was a rock star in the 1970's (Aerosmith opened for his band) and she has perfect pitch...to the point that she recently discovered she can identify the pitch of her dear husband, Paul's, farts - excuse me, toots. Her favorite childhood moments were at Disney World with her family and on awesome family reunions with her cousins. When she was 12, she sold $10,000 worth of beanie babies online. She's studying to be a professional life coach and is currently enjoying sporting her new super-short haircut. She is currently listening to:Bon Iver and Passion Pit
The question on her mind as she enters into this year:What would it look like for me to learn to truly share?

Joel

Joel finds it daunting to sum himself in just a few sentences, but Joel is also not a man who shrinks from daunting tasks. He lived in Virginia until moving to the beautiful state of Tennessee where he met his beautiful wife, Jessi, and some other beautiful people who are now close friends who happen to live in the same house(which is beautiful). Joel is a person who loves hearing and telling great stories. Some of his favorite written stories include the Ender’s Game series, the Chronicles of Narnia, and the Harry Potter series; but his real favorite stories are the kind that God is always writing through our lives. He loves to help others see how God is working in their story and some day he wants to do this professionally as a counselor. He is currently reading: the Harry Potter series aloud to his wife. The question on his mind this year is:How will God work through the people around me this year to inspire and challenge me to live life to the fullest?

Jessi

Jessi can’t wait to see what this year holds! She loves good conversations over a hot cup of coffee and making people feel at home. She’s totally in love with her wonderful new husband Joel. She is passionate about what she does--training and discipling student worship leaders. She’s a fan of all things classy, including Audrey Hepburn and pearl jewelry. She also eats dry hot chocolate powder right out of the packet. She is currently reading The Christian Educator's Handbook on Spiritual Formation. The question on her mind this year is: How can authentic friendship form us more into Christ's image?
